Under My Umbrella

Trench: Banana Republic, Umbrella: Totes, Earrings: H&M, Necklace: Via Fairfax Flea Market, Diamond Ring & Gold Bracelet : Gift from Mom, Other Ring: Cache,Watch: Michael Kors, Coral Bracelet: c/o A Keene Sense of Style + Outrage Fashion, Shirt: Express (Design Studio), Cardigan: J Crew, Skirt: J Crew, Tights: Forever 21, Boots: Aldo (old), Bag: Melie Bianco c/o,

It's easy to want to stay inside where it's dry on a rainy day but sometimes life just doesn't allow it. I'm often faced with the decision of whether to be practical and whether to be stylish (which in this case would mean running as fast as I can to my car in a pencil skirt and pumps while trying to avoid getting wet). Today I decided to wear an outfit that was equal parts fun and perfect for combating the days off and on downpour. Of course a pretty leopard umbrella is a great way to make any day a little brighter. I love when practicality and style unite.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! If it's raining where you are try to stay dry.

Caped

Cape: VVseller, Dress: New York & Co. via Ross, Gloves: Via Loeman's, Earrings: H&M, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Cache, Boots: Charles David, Bag: Gucci

Today I beat the rainy weather in a cozy cape and over the knee boots. What I love most about these boots is that they can be folded and worn at different heights, this makes them endlessly versatile. I then added leather gloves, a bold red lip, and gold accessories.

Structured Leopard

Blazer: BCBG Max Azria, Blouse: Maggy London, Belt: H&M, Skirt: ASOS (dress worn as skirt),  Earrings: H&M, Watch: Michael Kors, Rings: Gifted & Cache, Bag: Prada, Shoes: Gucci

Today I put together two of my favorite things leopard, and kelly green in one easy look. I wanted to add a pop of color to my otherwise basic black ensemble so I decided to take one of my favorite dresses (seen previously in this post) and wear it as a skirt. I added the black blazer to create balance and to give it more of a structured look. To take this look from day to night add a great pair of t-strap pumps, a chic clutch, and leave the blazer at home!

I have a pretty strict policy when it comes to buying things. I am not allowed to purchase something unless it makes my heart pitter patter. Unless of course it's a "basic" which means I am filling a void in my wardrobe. I also say that if I visit a store and try something on more than two times I have to buy it the third time otherwise I'm obsessed with something I don't even own. Case and point this wonderful fuchsia jacket. I spotted this beauty online at J Crew and I looked at it about 20 times. After stalking it online, Pinning it, and Tweeting about it I finally went into the store only to find that it was even more beautiful and perfect in person. Needless to say, it is now the newest addition to my jacket collection!

What's your shopping strategy? Happy Monday!

Where The Leaves Fall

Shirt: Forever 21, Jacket 1: Vintage, Jeans: Via Fashion of Echo, Shoes: Charles David, Bag: Prada, Earrings: J Crew, Watch: Michale Kors, Bracelet: Gifted, Rings: Cache, Jacket 2: J Crew, Scarf: Vendor in France, Flats: Coach

Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year and it's not just because of the delicious food and promise of black Friday shopping that is only a day away. It's because it is the one time of year that I know I will be flying back East to visit my lovely family. Although, I grew up in Maryland, my family and I all travel to Charlotte, North Carolina where my aunt and uncle are the loveliest hosts. I have been surrounded by family, picturesque scenery, great food, and endless laughter for the past few days and there is just no place I'd rather be. You'll have to forgive me for being a little lazy on blogging.

For the big turkey dinner I wore a sequin vintage jacket and my favorite kelly green denim. Afterwards we took a (much needed) nature walk and I swapped out my sequins for a warmer blazer scarf combo and comfy flats. If you haven't already noticed, I'm a little obsessed with the leaves. They are absolutely stunning.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Xo

On Repeat

Daytime sequins on repeat (remember this post?).  I love the idea of pairing a chunky scarf with sparkly sequins. I feel like it takes an otherwise nighttime trend to daytime-chic territory. Perfect for curing my case of the Monday's.

Thanks so much for reading!

Prepster

White shirt: Custom men's button-up, Blue shirt: Brooks Brothers, Cape Jacket: Banana Republic, Belt: Thrifted, Clutch: Vintage, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Charlotte Russe, J Crew, Forever 21, & Gifted, Wool Trousers: J Crew, Earrings: H&M, Sunnies: Chloe c/o Ditto, Shoes: Charles David

Today I went for a preppy look by pairing two shirts on top of each other. The white shirt has a really large collar since it is men's and that is one of the reasons why I love it so much for layering. I then added bright coral trousers, brown accessories, and a few gold bangles to complete the look.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Peplums & Bows

Top & Belt: Forever 21 (old), Skirt: Lulu's, Earrings: Forever 21, Bag: Gianni Bernini, Shoes: Gucci

Today I paired two of the season’s hottest trends in one fun a flirty look. I wore a pretty oxblood peplum top with a full black skirt and sparkly studs. I decided to keep my accessories minimal so that I could let this wonderful top with its matching bow belt be the star of the show. This outfit is perfect for date night or a holiday party. If I could wear something like this every day I would be the happiest girl on Earth!

Modern Classics

Trench: Banana Republic, Dress: Tart Collections c/o,  Belt: Zara, Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings: H&M, Necklace: Gifted, Bag: Prada, Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Today I decided to wear this gorgeous snake print dress. I simply love the fit and how it contours to the shape of the body. This makes layering it a breeze! It’s also incredibly versatile. For day wear, I toned down the print and made it more daytime-friendly by pairing it with pearls, nude pumps, and a classic trench. To wear it out on the town, add a sleek black clutch, sheer tights, and sky-high pumps.

Tart Collections makes such timeless pieces that flatter the curves on a woman’s body – this makes their items fun and easy to style. Remember these dresses that I wore here, here, and here?

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great Wednesday!
