Skirt/Dress/Skirt

Sweater: BCBG, Scarf: F21 (old) Skirt: Taylor (dress worn as skirt), Shoes: BCBG Generation, Bag: Alfani, Necklace: Tiffany & Co., Earrings: H&M

I decided to do another dress worn as a skirt look, because I really love this shade of purple. Remember the last time I wore this lovely dress to the Simply Stylist event (seen here)? I mentioned before that when you start wearing dresses as skirts (and tops for that matter) you really maximize your wardrobe and increase the cost per wear...and who doesn’t want that?

On another note, I was in New York City for the Style for Hire national conference this past weekend so that's why I was a little lazy on the blogging. I was in extremely informative seminars both days, so snapping pictures and blogging wasn't really possible. I did however take a few snap shots while strolling around the city doing touristy things, which I am looking forward to sharing with you! Stay tuned.

Print & Proper

Dress: MG Silk Collection, Belt: Vintage, Necklace: Tiffany & Co., Earrings: H&M, Watch: Kessaris Quartz, Bag: Michael Kors, Shoes: Gucci

I thought it would be best to pair this bold printed dress with minimal accessories.  As you already know, I just love black and white pieces in my wardrobe, (as mentioned before here) I decided to pull out this lovely red belt again to give a nice pop of color and a little vintage flair.

Laissez Faire

Shirt: Ralph Lauren Sport, Skirt: Guess, Belts: Zara & F21, Bracelets: Gifted (assorted), Watch: Michael Kors, Neclace: F21, Earrings: H&M, Shoes: Zara, Purse: Talbots

Today I paired one of my favorite colors of the season, mint green, with a crisp white skirt and jazzed it up with a few gold accessories. As you can see I decided to wear two belts because one just looked too thin. I love the way the brown and gold complement each other (don’t be afraid to get creative). This look is casual but still a little glamorous.

Beauty Products

From left: Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Trio & Soft-Pressed Powder Blusher (colors are: like mink duo, pink chocolate quad, and stay matte)
Clinique Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector
Napoleon Perdis DeVine Goddess lipstick in Eros (c/o)
Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Primer (c/o)

My current coffee table reads: Harper's Bazaar, Veranda, Elle Decor, The Little Dictionary Of Fashion

I have been getting a few questions from readers about what kind of beauty products I use, so I decided to share some of my favorites as of lately. I have been testing out the Clinique eye shadow trio (it was a gift with purchase) and I love the three different colors against my skin, it works really good for creating a smokey eye. Also, the Clinique "Even Better Clinical" products are all great, the dark spot corrector isn't just for dark spots; it also works great for creating a smooth and even skin tone. One of my favorite new lipsticks is the Eros shade by Napoleon Perdis, it adds just the right pop of color to any look (as seen here), I know I'll be wearing it a lot this spring / summer. Lastly, I'm loving the Auto Pilot Primer also by Napoleon Perdis, when I put it on my makeup lasts so much longer.

I  know it's hard to test out a beauty product for the first time, so I hope you find this helpful!

What beauty products do you love right now? Happy Weekend!

Warm Weather Lovelies

Jacket: Eurochic Boutique, Dress: F21 (Love21), Shoes: Ivanka Trump, Bag: Vintage, Bracelets: Assorted (Gifted), Necklace: Target, Earrings: H&M

With this lovely weather, I have been so happy to pull out some of my favorite dresses this week. This one, by Love 21, is just wonderful. I love the silhouette (of course) and it has subtle little polka dots all over it, what more could I ask for? I feel like I should just be sitting at a cafe eating mini sandwiches all day. I brought along one of my fave pink jackets. Even though it is really thin, I ended up having to ditch it, sure is lovely though.

Romantic Ruffles

Top: J Crew, Jeans: New York and Co., Shoes: Betsey Johnson, Earrings: H&M, Watch: Kessaris Quartz, Bag: Vintage
Lipstick: c/o Napopeon Perdis  (available here)

I adore this ruffle neck blouse that a got from J crew a while ago. Just seeing the feminine ruffles makes my heart pitter patter. With the perfect pink lip and a bun, this outfit is perfect for a date or just a glamorous night out on the town.

I also had the chance to wear my new "DeVine Goddess" lipstick in Eros that I received when I visited the Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy. I just love it! The color is great and it dosn't dry out my lips. To see my post on them click here.

New Favorites

Shirt: H&M (dress worn as shirt), Skirt: H&M, Watch: Kessaris Quartz, Earrings: H&M, Belt & Clutch: Vintage, Shoes: Ivanka Trump

This skirt has been sitting in my closet for over six months with the tag still on it! Now that I'm finally wearing it, I'm wondering what took me so long?! As soon as I saw this pretty red belt (that I have had forever) I thought about pairing them together. They are just perfect for each other; and for the glorious weather we have been having.
Do you have something that has been sitting in your closet with the tag still on?

High Houndstooth

Turtleneck: Ralph Lauren, Shorts: Sway Boutique, Blazer & Bag: Vintage, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Gifted (Assorted), Earrings: H&M, Shoes: Gucci

I find these high-waisted houndstooth shorts to be a bit of a bold statement, first there is the length (or lack thereof) and then there is the pattern (love!), which means one should be extra cautious with the accompaniments. I decided to keep up top all covered up since these shorts are pretty leggie. It's best to explore only one trend at a time in an outfit.

Leather Love

Shirt: F21, Sweater Vest: Tory Burch, Jeans: Abbey Dawn, Boots: Aldo, Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings: H&M, Bag: Junior Drake

I love the leather detailing on this gorgeous Tory Burch sweater vest. I decided to add a matching leather bag and boots in a contrasting shade. This look was perfect for chilly weather and running around town.

Brown on Brown

Shirt: Susan Lawrence, Pants: Ralph Lauren, Coat: Petite Sophisticate, Shoes: BCBG Generation, Necklace: J Crew, Watch: Michael Kors, Earrings: H&M, Bracelets: Gifted (Assorted), Scarf: F21, Ring: F21, Bag: Prada

 My Friday work look.
I kept this look monochromatic by matching my shirt and coat. I then added a scarf for a touch of color. Pearls with these crisp white pants were my simple, yet much needed accessories.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend!

Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy

I was invited to attend the opening of the newly newly updated Napoleon Perdis Makeup Academy in Hollywood, and what a wonderful experience it was. Upon arrival I mingled with the guests and munched on delicious (and low-carb!) appetizers, before it was my turn to get the glam treatment. Rebecca Prior, the chief of makeup services, gave me a bold pink lip and talked me through creating the look on my own.

(On me) Blouse and Earrings: J Crew, Ring: F21, Skirt: BCBG, On the lips: Napoleon Perdis DeVine Goddess lipstick (buy it here)
I had the chance to chat with Napoleon, who was a wonderful host.  He told me that at the academy education is their key focus.  This is why all of the products are complete with pro-tips and an empowering message.

The Napoleon Perdis flagship store, located on Hollywood Boulevard, has a wide variety of makeup as well as a professional photo studio that is attached. They also offer a full beauty school.

Vintage Neon

Jacket: Vintage, Dress: Zara, Watch: Michael Kors, Bracelets: Gifted (Assorted), Earrings: H&M, Clutch: Michael Kors, Shoes: Christian Louboutin

Wearing neon can be very risky, if done incorrectly you can look like you just stepped off the set of an eighties sitcom. To avoid this little mishap, I recommend pairing it with neutrals. I decided to do some subtle color blocking with my neon yellow jacket and paired it with this blue and white Zara dress. I kept my shoes and accessories simple.
